Peer Review Process
The First Step - Submission Check
At IJRDO - Journal of Arts & Architecture, every manuscript goes through a basic screening process. When you submit your manuscript, our team checks to see if it's on topic and meets our quality and format standards. This allows us to get the process off to a good start.
Moving to Review
Once we have checked that the manuscript passes the screening phase, the manuscript is then reviewed by specialists for a detailed review of aspects of the research. We adopt a process of anonymous peer review, so that we can concentrate on the editorial quality of the manuscript. This guarantees an objective assessment.
What Reviewers Look For
Our reviewers will be looking at several aspects of the manuscript, including:
- Originality and creativity of the work
- Clarity of ideas and presentation
- Relevance to arts and architecture
- Quality of arguments, design, or analysis
They're not only there to assess but also to enhance the work.
Feedback and Suggestions
After the review, the authors receive feedback and suggestions. These suggestions can provide valuable help in the paper. This is not simply a pro-forma process but one that allows researchers the opportunity to hone their arguments before publication.
Revision Stage
Authors are required to respond to reviewers' comments and make necessary changes. We encourage many subtle changes as they often improve the presentation and impact of the study.
Final Decision
When you resubmit the manuscript, it is reviewed by the editorial team, and a final decision is made. The outcome may be:
- Accepted for publication
- Accepted with minor or major changes
- Rejected if not of the required quality
Respect and Confidentiality
We honour the privacy and confidentiality of participants. We treat manuscripts with care and respect writers' work at all stages.
Our Aim
We aim to make the peer review process efficient, fair, and beneficial. We want to help authors communicate their vision as well as possible, not publish manuscripts.
